I always do feel so grateful whenever I am able to be in the hometown on the Christmas day!.. And yes, I do really miss a lot of things about the hometown so much! 😄. I miss my home. I miss my family. I miss my local church. I miss the people.. And above all, I miss my hometown at Christmas day!
It feels like, it's a kind of a norm to me, in every 1 to 2 years that I will be coming back home or back in my hometown only on Christmas... Thus, I would say that I will be in my hometown after a year later or two, and that's also include attending the local church once a year, or once in 2 years and, it's only on Christmas? 😳.. And I think, that's funny! 😆.
Anyway on December 25, me and my family have attended our local church in the morning as the service started at 9.00 am. The service has intended to be a bit longer than the usual ones on every Sunday because that particular day was special. So, there were varieties of wonderful performances or events and also other great programmes held by the church community in celebrating the very special day. And with that, it was really interesting!
There were plenty of acting or role-plays performed by a group of teenagers or Sunday youth, and also by the Sunday school children. And, there were also a few groups of great singers who sang and have created stunning melody, together with marvelous choir groups, and all... And I believed that, we all knew that all of those nice events have been made up to their very best just for the one special day at Christmas.
Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. - 1 Chronicles 16:23
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. - Galatians 5:13
As for me, I feel happy enough and thankful to be around at the church. And, to be able to join and participate together with the church truly is a meaningful experience. The interesting part is, through all the service events, I see new faces. I meet new people. I even encounter those old faces or people whom I once met long time ago and I do still recognise them, and remember their faces. And, thankfully that they are all well and healthy, and happy!
And again, it feels like a kind of a great opportunity to meet the people whom I have not seen after a very long time... And, that's odd and weird at the same time! 😅.
However, above all is the wonderful lessons along with the meaningful sermons that we have learned together on this particular special day. It's truly a day known as the day full of joy that we should celebrate!
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. - Colossians 3:16
Hence, I thanked the people or the community for their kindness and effort which they had put in together to have made such a wonderful and meaningful experience for all the people and the church.
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. - Philippians 2:1-4
Therefore, Merry Christmas to everyone and always be blessed... :) 💗🙏
