"Welcome back to work!"... I mean, I've heard this same "welcoming greeting" few times already today, from my colleagues whenever I met them.
"Where have you been?"... They asked. "Where have you been missing?" They asked again. Well, they seem to be curious about my whereabouts, but at the same time, they just like to tease.., as well. I said, "Well yes, I went missing for a while..." Then, we all laugh.
"You know, I haven't met you for 2 years." Huh?.. "Oo.., really?" I said. I've only been away for 2 weeks, not 2 years.... Actually, they know quite well that I'm not around in 2 weeks and it's not 2 years. 😅 And, I understand that we didn't really meet for quite a while, or in other words it's just simply means, long time no see you... That's all..
Now, I'm amaze when literally we seldom meet each other in shift although we're all in the same group. But, mentioning about the other different groups, well.., it's even worse. We only can meet them during our shift end time and, obviously not joining into their groups or into their shifts. So meaning that, we're solely belong to our only one group, no mixing around with other groups. Thus, we hardly meet those from these other different groups, actually, by not working with them or seeing them for about 1 to 2 months?.. Huh!
But, that's our daily work routine nowadays.., actually. No mixing with other groups. You're totally belong to your own group. Well, I'm not surprise because the Covid-19 is completely the culprit! It's all about trying to keep to a minimum of the exposure to, or in contact with Covid-19 among staff. So, if it happens to be found that one person is tested Covid-19 positive, immediately that one whole group would need to be placed in quarantine, without affecting the other groups. Thus, it's actually to make the work process a lot easier for the management side in handling this Covid-19 thing among the staff. Hence, this whole thing tells you that no cross-over among groups and, mixing groups are strictly prohibited!
Anyway, enough with the Covid-19... Let's just continue with the previous story, shall we?.. :) Well yes, I'm back to work again after a long break. Well, everything appeared same. Nothing change... It's still the same 12 hours shift, working with my same colleagues, in the same group. Well, that's the standard for now.
Since I'm starting my night shift tonight, I need to readjust my head timetable again. Instead of to having my lunch at noon time (after a long time) now, I'm going to start to have my supper at 12 midnight. Again, my tummy needs to adjust its timetable too...
Actually, what we have for supper tonight is absolutely yummy! One bowl of really nice porridge, topping with scrambled eggs with soy sauce, fried vegetable with chilli, fried mackerel with black beans, fried pumpkin, pickled white radish and, my favourite, braised chicken feet in black soy sauce with ginger. 😋😋... And, it's all made from home cooking by all mothers. That's why sometimes, I do feel thankful to be working with my fellow colleagues who are "mothers"....😍
It sounds too much, right? But, don't be surprise that, I tend to get more hungry at night, actually... Especially at work :)
But again, there will be another second round..😄 And that will be at around 4.00 to 5.00 am. It's just simply something that I need to keep myself more awake and stay warm. So, to do that, here comes the coffee.... If you have black coffee, that's even better!
Well, it's purely something that we need to consume before we start to do our routine morning wash for the patients. We need to make the patients look fresh and tidy and neat for the day. It's the last thing that we can offer them before we end our shift.
Therefore, that's how the work goes.., each time.., day by day...
